The main conflict in this book is person versus society. This conflict is the main one because it is the conflict the opens up all the other conflict in the story. The conflict person versus society does not only involve one single person, but involves all black people back then in Mississippi. And society because the society was racist and did not care about personality all they cared was about their color, and that’s why trouble in the book started, because of racism. The major conflict that was caused because of the first big conflict was person versus person. Where the Aames brother tried flirting around with Cassie, because they knew that if one of the Logans or Moe tried defending Cassie, hurting them, they the Logans or Moe would be in big, big trouble with the police. And that’s what happened. Moe got really mad and jumped to fight Statler, but Statler started screaming and that was when Mr. Simm, his dad, got there, he was lucky Jeremy was there, and helped him(Moe) hide from his own uncle. From then on polices in Mississippi were after Moe. And that was when the Logans took Moe out of Mississippi and had to face many issues, until the problem was solved.

One of the major events at the beginning of the plot that set up the tone of the story was when Stacey had arrived from Jackson and saw the Aames brothers. That sets up the tone of the story because it was the first time in the story, among a million, that the Aames brother started fulling around with the Logans. When Moe jumps on top of Statler, that is the highest point on the story because its when all the trouble starts to rise up.The characters think really smartly before acting and finding a solution unlike Moe. They decide to send Moe to chicago, to stay with his uncle that lived there. As we all can see, by reading this plot summary of The Road to Memphis we can clearly see that the conflict of the story evolves around the racism and segregation among the black people.
I love this book that’s why I decided to read this book twice and write my book report on it. I like this book because it explains things in a clear way that helps us understand the book easily, without making questions that would be easy to answer, if the book was good. Yes, I would recommend this book to some but not to others. I would recommend to people who like reading about history and rascism back in the days. But I would not recommend this book to people that likes books that talks about today’s life, and people who likes to read more fiction and and also to people that does not like book that talks about segregation and how things were back in the days. The general theme for this book is segregation and rascism together with the way people act before thinking and then have big consequences accompanied with it (like Moe). Yes, the author Mildred D. Taylor, kind off convey his message threw out the story. Kind off, because one of the theme is rascism, and that theme doesn’t send us a message that helps us with the society we live in now. But in another way, the message the author delivers when talking about Moe’s action and the consequences he got within it, is a message that helps

This book takes place in Mississippi during 1941. This book refers to segregation. The protagonist in this book is Cassie, and her brothers, the secondary character, Little Man, Christopher-John, and Stacey. The Antagonist is the Aames brothers, Statler, Troy, and Leon together with Jeremy the secondary character that is not exactly an antagonist “secondary character” but and protagonist secondary character. During that time segregation used to be horrible for black people. Black people had absolutely no rights among the white people. And that’s what caused one of the main issues on this book, the right black people had, which were none. And that’s considered the rising action because by reading the first few chapters we can notice that the main conflict in the book was dealing with the segregation and racism. The climax was caused by the rising action. Everything started when Stacey, Little Man, Christopher-John, Stacey, and Moe went to Strawberry because Stacey had to finish paying the car he had bought from a good white man. When they got there, they knew trouble was about to start because the Aames brothers started “flirting” around with Cassie and told her to follow them to their garage
and Cassie, for being a black girl had to do whatever they told her to do (this could also be called the rising action because we know that trouble is about to come). The Aames brother kept on messing with Cassie because the only thing that got them happy was messing around with the Logans. And they knew that one day the Logans would not stand his provocations and would jump up to fight or disobey them, which could make cause them Jail. He kept on messing around with Cassie until Moe went out of control and jumped on top of him and started punching him, but Statler started screaming(This is the climax of the story because this is the most interesting part of the story). And that was when his dad Mr.Simm ran down from his house to see what was happening. (This can be called the

Inciting Action because this leads to the conflict. When Mr.Simm’s come is the inciting action because with that Moe would be in big trouble. And would have to find somewhere to stay until the everything settles a little bit). When Moe heard Mr.Simm’s voice going down the stairs to the garage he looked for a way to escape. That was when he saw Jeremy inside the truck calling him desperately to go in to hide from his uncle. And that was Moe’s only chance to escape from the police and from Statler’s angry dad. He ran to the truck and Jeremy helped him hide. From then on Moe was in big trouble with the Mississippi polices (Conflict). Moe, the Logans, and Jeremy were all trying to help Moe escape. If the police got his hands on Moe, Moe would have to go to jail and
stay in there for a long time. That was when his friends (Logans and Jeremy) decided that he should run away to Chicago and stay there with his aunt until everything settled down again.
